The Onkyo Home Theater System HT-S5205 is another typical home theater system from the famous manufacturer in mid to high-end home theater market: Onkyo. This home theater unit is designed to provide you with high-definition entertainment as it is compatible with three different 1080 video formats. This is an ideal complement for your high-definition display. A high definition video display needs comparable high quality audio. The Onkyo HT-S5205 utilizes a pack of Audyssey’s technology in order to provide great surround sound experience from your favorite movies, music videos, or TV shows. With a convenient front panel input, the Onkyo HT-S5205 can also be connected to your mp3 player or iPod for playing audio files.
The Onkyo Home Theater System HT-S5205 features high-class theatre-dimensional circuitry which is very different from the conventional surround sound setup. This feature gives you the experience for exciting surround sound. To get most realistic virtual sound from the home theather system, you can set the unique multispeaker mode and place up to five speakers next to your television set.
As a mid level entrant, the Onkyo Home Theater System HT-S5205 is a versatile unit with iPod compatibility. To use it with the iPod, you only need to put your iPod in the DS-A1 Remote Interactive Dock which is sold separately, and then connect the iPod to Onkyo HT-S5205 amplifier/receiver. Now you can hear more powerful and rich sound from your small iPod through the Onkyo audio component.
Any connections that you need are available in the back panel of this Onkyo Home Theater System. There you will find 3 HDMI 1.3 ins and 1 output with pass through. Actually the ter 1.3 is a misnomer because HT-S5205 does not support Dolby TrueHD or DTS Master Audio decoding. But it is true that it supports DTS, DTS Neo: 6, DTS 96/24, Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic II. Two component video ins and outs are also in the back panel, together with the 2 co axial and 1 optical audio in option. Each speaker channel’s output is 100 watss into 6 ohms. The frequency response is in range 20 Hz -20 kHz.
Onkyo Home Theater System HT-S5205 comes with tiny glossy black satellites. The subwoofer is also in similar gloss surface with 20 cm diameter driver. With this 150 watt subwoofer, you will never miss the sound and high quality of the bass.
