A home theatre is basically a home-built theater that intended to copy the commercial theater on the atmosphere, feel and also performance. The 2.1 home theater systems is an audio system that intended to create the audio performance of real theater brought into the home theater. The 2.1 speaker system is a stereo channel system that occupies two stereo speakers and a subwoofer for the audio output. The home theater systems can be used to provide an audio system for television, movies or music. The 2.1 home theater systems work like 5.1 channel surround-sound system but without the two stereo speakers on the rear side.
2.1 home theater systems have simpler wiring and arrangement rather than the 5.1 surround-sound system due to fewer speakers occupied, and the need of arranging center and surrounds channel speaker. The 2.1 speaker system is a major leap for delivering high-quality audio for television set if compared with standard audio for television which mostly only two small speakers that usually unable to deliver wide-range audio, especially low bass sound. Modern TV shows and Blu-ray DVD’s are intended for 5.1 channel sound system. The 2.1 home theater systems simplified the complicated sound system into easier setup but capable on delivering nearly the same audio output.
The 2.1 speaker systems are mostly preferred due to its simplicity and more affordable price. The 2.1 speaker systems is ideal for smaller room; the 5.1 surround-sound system will need a large room in order to create the perfect surround sound effect delivered by 5 speakers. This kind of audio systems can deliver enough excitement for enjoying movies or music videos without complicated setup and extra expenses. Some 2.1 home theater systems have a special decoder that intended to create a rear sound effect in order to mimic the quality of 5.1 surround sounds. The decoder is designed to create enveloped audio effect.
